Are you over the age of 18? Do you want to learn how to play roller derby?

Tri-City hosts two annual Learn to Skate and Roller Derby Foundations Boot Camp sessions.

In Learn to Skate, you will learn the basics of roller skating. You will learn to skate, fall and stop safely from our own Tri-City skaters. Don’t have gear? We have a limited supply of loaner gear for people wanting to come out and try.

If you already know how to skate, or have attended our Learn to Skate sessions, you are set to attend one of our Roller Derby Foundations Boot Camps. Here, you’ll further develop your skating skills, and learn how to block and jam!

TCRDs Spring session of Learn to skate ends February 27 and Roller Derby Foundations starts March 6!

This class will teach you everything you need to join our roller derby family on skates and start participating in the fastest growing sport on the planet! No previous skills necessary!

Required Equipment to participate:

Tri-City Junior Roller Derby brings the excitement, skill, and a whole lot of what makes roller derby fun to girls aged 9 to 17. We also welcome all children who want to be amazing referees.

With supportive coaches, skaters learn all they need to know in a safe and nurturing way. It’s an out-of-the-ordinary sport for your extraordinary kid!

Our Juniors program runs on Fridays in Kitchener, Saturdays in Guelph, and on Sundays in Stratford.

Contact our Juniors’ representative at for information on registration.

Not interested in playing a women’s full contact sport, but still want to be a part of the amazing roller derby community?

Our officiating team is one of our greatest assets. You could train with our high level officiating crew!

As a referee, you will learn to skate, and all the intricacies of the rules. You will attend practices, and learn through practical experience.

If you’d rather officiate from the safety of your shoes, we are also seeking Non-Skating Officials. As an NSO, you will be responsible for such things as recording vital information, timing penalties or running the scoreboard at games.

No skating or officiating experience is necessary. Contact us at to get started!

Still haven’t figured out where you fit in? Are you a responsible student looking for volunteer hours?

We are always looking for people to join our volunteer army!!
